The 7.5 foot diameter is perfect for spreading out with a drink and a book, and the solid surface feels sturdy even when I shift around.
The removable backrest makes lounging feel much more like a real chair than a pool float, and the 7.5 foot diameter is plenty of space for two people to stretch out. Assembly took me just a few minutes, and the surface feels durable enough for daily use.
